  Does Screenwriters' Workshop have classes?

The Workshop does not currently offer classes, but does bring in speakers in screenwriting during the year. A committee is assessing the education needs of the local screenwriting community as well as
other writing classes in the community (so as to avoid duplication of services). Check the classes page for upcoming information.

Can Screenwriters' Workshop get me an agent?

Sorry, no. But we can help you find information about agents and provide helpful tips about how to locate the right agent for you, how to write query letters, etc.

Can Screenwriters' Workshop sell my screenplay?

Wish we could, but we can't. We can, however, supply you with resources for finding potential buyers for your script as well as guidance on the best ways to approach those potential buyers. Most important of all, we can help you determine if your script is really ready for the marketplace.

Can the Screenwriters' Workshop produce my script?

The Workshop is not a producer or a development entity. Our purview is the screenplay. For information about film production, contact
IFP-MSP Minneapolis-St. Paul or the Minnesota Film Board.

The Workshop does offer
Screenlabs, which provides writers the opportunity to workshop a portion of the script in a production environment. Application dates will be announced on the Screenlabs page and SWW website. Selected writers work with local professional directors and crew in shooting a portion of their screenplay.

How do I get a public reading in the ScriptNight series at the Illusion Theater?

You currently must be a Screenwriters' Workshop
member and complete the Script Group workshop process. See the Script Group page for details.

How do I get a 2nd Tuesday reading?

If you are a Workshop member, contact the
2nd Tuesday Reading Series coordinator Deane Morrison to schedule a reading.

Does the Workshop have computers available for members to use?

Unfortunately, no. You might try the county or city library system in your area. Some copy shops (like Kinkos) also have computers available for public use (for a fee).

Does the Workshop have scripts, screenwriting books and magazines available I can borrow?

The Workshop does have a small script and screenwriting resource library which operates on the honor system. Please contact
mnsww@mac.com to gain access.
